Possible Causes
Open induction coil or radiant element, Failed zone relay or triac on power module, Loose wiring to that zone, Burned connector at element terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the cooktop is cool before removing it from the counter or opening panels.
- Swap pans/zones: Confirm the issue is limited to one zone by testing the same pan on other zones.
- Access underside: Remove the cooktop from the countertop as per La Cornue instructions. Inspect wiring to the affected zone for burns or loose connectors.
- Test element/coil: Disconnect the element or induction coil and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed component that must be replaced.
- Inspect module: Look for burnt spots or damaged components on the power module associated with that zone. Replace the module if damage is evident or if the element tests good but still does not heat.
