Possible Causes
Door lock motor jammed, Warped latch from high heat, Faulty door lock switch not signaling 'unlocked', Control board not sending unlock command
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not force the door open with tools; this can damage the frame and glass.
- Allow extra cooling: Wait at least 30–60 minutes after the cycle ends; some locks remain engaged until a low temperature is reached.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 1 minute, then ON, and attempt to cancel the self‑clean cycle and unlock the door via the control.
- Manual release: Consult your La Cornue manual for the location of the manual door lock release (often accessible from the top or rear). Use the recommended tool to gently move the latch to the unlocked position.
- Inspect lock assembly: Once open and power is off, access the lock motor and linkage. Replace the lock assembly if it is warped, seized, or the motor tests open.
