Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, failed grill energy regulator or thermostat, overheated and tripped grill safety thermostat, loose wiring to grill circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooker at the isolator and allow the grill area to cool completely.
Inspect the grill circuit:
- Remove the grill pan and shelf. Look up at the grill element for signs of sagging, cracks, or burn marks.
- Access the top panel or rear panel (depending on model) to reach the grill element terminals. Check for loose or charred connectors.
- Test the grill element with a multimeter for continuity. Replace if open circuit.
- Locate the grill safety thermostat (often mounted near the grill cavity) and test for continuity. Some are manual reset types; press the reset button if present.
- If the element and safety thermostat are good, test the grill control (energy regulator) or grill thermostat behind the control knob for continuity when turned on. Replace if faulty.
Note: Grill circuits run at high temperatures; ensure all replacement parts are genuine or approved for your specific Leisure model.
