Possible Causes

Stuck or jammed door lock mechanism, failed door lock motor, broken door lock microswitch, wiring fault between lock and main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the cooker from mains power. Ensure the oven is cool before attempting to open or work on the door lock.

Freeing a stuck lock:

  • Try gently pressing the door inwards while operating the lock/unlock function (if available) to relieve pressure on the latch.
  • If the door remains locked with E10, remove the top panel or control panel (depending on model) to access the door lock assembly.
  • Manually move the lock lever to release the door, taking care not to force or bend components.

Check the lock components:

  • Inspect the door lock motor and linkage for signs of burning, stiffness, or broken plastic parts.
  • Test the door lock microswitches for correct operation with a multimeter (they should change state when the lock is engaged).
  • Check the wiring harness from the lock to the main control PCB for damage or loose connectors.
  • Replace the complete door lock assembly if the motor or switches are faulty.

Note: Some Leisure models do not have pyrolytic cleaning but still use a safety lock; refer to your model’s service information for exact lock type.
