Possible Causes
Tripped house breaker on one leg, Open bake and broil elements, Burnt wire at terminal block, Failed main control relay output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting wiring. Electric ranges use 240 VAC, which is lethal.
- Check breakers: Many ranges use a double breaker. Ensure both handles are fully ON. Reset if tripped.
- Test elements: With power off, access the rear of the range and disconnect one wire from each element. Measure resistance; replace any open elements.
- Inspect terminal block: Check where the power cord connects to the range. Look for burnt wires or melted plastic. Repair wiring and replace the terminal block if damaged.
- Control output: If power and elements are good, the main control may not be sending voltage to the elements. Replace the control board if no output is present during a bake or broil command.
