Possible Causes

Membrane keypad shorted, Control panel ribbon cable contaminated or damaged, Main oven control (ERC) keypad input circuit failed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the range OFF at the breaker and allow it to sit for at least 5 minutes before touching any wiring. Do not work on a hot appliance.

  • Power reset: Switch the range breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. Try setting the time and starting a simple bake cycle. If F0 returns immediately, the keypad or control is likely faulty.
  • Check for stuck keys: Press each button on the control panel firmly one at a time. If any key feels stuck, spongy, or does not click, the membrane keypad is likely shorted.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: With power OFF, remove the back cover behind the control panel. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the main control. Disconnect and inspect for corrosion, burnt spots, or bent contacts. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and reconnect firmly.
  • Isolate keypad vs control: If the keypad is a separate overlay, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control board, restore power, and see if F0 appears without pressing anything. If F0 still appears with the keypad disconnected, the main control is bad. If the error disappears, the keypad/overlay is defective.
  • Replace faulty part: Replace the membrane keypad/control panel assembly or the electronic range control (ERC) as indicated. Label all connectors before removal and transfer them one by one to the new board.
