Possible Causes
Open bake element, Open broil element (if used for preheat), Failed relay on main control board, Loose element wiring, Incorrect power supply voltage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the oven is cool before touching elements.
- Check elements visually: Inspect the bake (bottom) and broil (top) elements for breaks, blisters, or burn marks. Any visible damage means the element should be replaced.
- Test elements: Disconnect power, remove the rear panel, and disconnect one wire from each element. Measure resistance across each element. Typical values are 15–40 Ω. An open reading (OL) indicates a failed element.
- Inspect wiring: Check the element terminals and wires for signs of overheating or loose connections. Tighten or replace burnt connectors.
- Verify power supply: Confirm 240 VAC is present across L1–L2 at the terminal block. Low or missing voltage will prevent proper heating.
- Control board: If elements and wiring are good and power supply is correct, the main control board may not be sending power to the elements. Replace the control board if no voltage is present at the element terminals during a bake cycle.
