Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Stuck relay on main control board, Faulty main control temperature circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Allow the oven to cool completely before working inside.

  • Visual check: Confirm the oven interior is not excessively hot when F2 appears. If it is, do not continue using the oven until repaired.
  • Inspect temperature sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor probe inside the oven (usually rear wall, upper area). Ensure it is firmly mounted and not touching metal racks or walls.
  • Check sensor resistance: With power OFF, remove the rear panel and disconnect the sensor harness. Measure resistance across the sensor leads with a multimeter. At room temperature (~77°F / 25°C), it should read about 1080 Ω. A reading far lower (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Inspect wiring: Trace the sensor wires from the probe to the control board. Look for pinched, melted, or bare wires touching metal. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Control board evaluation: If the sensor and wiring test good, the oven relay on the main control may be stuck closed. Replace the main control board if the oven continues heating after being turned off or F2 persists.
