Possible Causes
Shorted sensor, Sensor wires shorted together, Sensor connector filled with moisture, Control board misinterpretation of sensor signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Check actual temperature: If the oven is clearly not overheated when F22 appears, suspect a sensor or wiring issue.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature (~1080 Ω expected). A very low reading indicates a shorted sensor; replace it.
- Inspect connector: Look for moisture or corrosion in the sensor connector. Dry thoroughly and clean contacts if needed.
- Check harness for shorts: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance between each sensor wire and chassis ground. Any low reading indicates a short; repair or replace the harness.
- Replace control if needed: If sensor and wiring are good, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
