Possible Causes
Upper oven sensor failure, Loose upper sensor connector, Damaged upper oven sensor harness, Control board upper sensor circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker.
- Identify upper sensor: On double-oven LG ranges, locate the sensor in the upper cavity (rear wall). Remove mounting screws and gently pull sensor forward.
- Test sensor: Disconnect and measure resistance (~1080 Ω at room temperature). Replace if open or out of range.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the upper sensor to the control board for damage or loose connections. Repair as needed.
- Replace control: If the sensor and wiring are good, the control board's upper sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
