Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Incorrect gas orifice for fuel type, Low gas pressure or partially closed shutoff valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burners and shut off gas supply if disassembling burners. Do not use sharp metal objects in burner ports.
- Clean burner ports: Remove burner caps and heads. Use a soft brush or wooden toothpick to clear debris from the small gas ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Re-seat caps: Reinstall burner heads and caps, ensuring they sit flat and centered.
- Check gas valve: Verify the gas shutoff valve is fully open. If other gas appliances are also weak, contact your gas supplier.
- Fuel type: Confirm the range is configured for your gas type (natural gas vs LP). If converted, ensure the correct LG conversion kit and orifices were installed.
- Test flame: Light the burner and observe flame height and color. A proper flame is mostly blue with small yellow tips.
