Possible Causes

Defective spark module, Failed burner igniter electrode, Loose or broken igniter wire, No power to spark module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and unplug the range or turn off the breaker. Avoid open flames while troubleshooting.

  • Check power: Ensure the range is plugged in and the outlet has power. The igniters require electricity to spark.
  • Listen for spark: Turn a burner knob to Lite. If there is no clicking on any burner, suspect the spark module or power supply. If some burners click and others do not, suspect individual igniters or wiring.
  • Inspect igniters: Remove burner caps and heads. Clean the igniter tips with a soft brush to remove grease and debris. Ensure the porcelain insulator is not cracked.
  • Check wiring: With power disconnected, inspect the wires from the spark module to each igniter for burns or breaks. Reseat loose connectors.
  • Replace parts: If only one burner fails, replace that burner igniter electrode. If none spark and power is present, replace the spark module with an LG-compatible unit.
