Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Broken fan wiring, Faulty convection relay on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool before accessing the rear or interior fan cover.
Steps:
- Listen for fan: In convection mode, you should hear the fan. If not, proceed to inspection.
- Access fan: Remove the interior rear panel to expose the convection fan. Check for obstructions or baked-on debris preventing rotation.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan blade by hand. If it is stiff or seized, replace the fan motor assembly.
- Electrical test: With power OFF, test the fan motor for continuity. Replace if open. Inspect wiring to the motor and repair if damaged.
- Control board: If the motor and wiring are good but the fan never receives power in convection mode, replace the EOC.
Tip: Always reinstall the rear baffle; it is required for proper convection airflow.
