Electric oven will not broil; bake works normally.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing.

Steps:

• Visual inspection: Inspect the upper broil element for breaks or burn spots. Replace if damaged.
• Continuity test: Remove mounting screws, pull the element forward, disconnect wires, and test for continuity. Replace if open.
• Wiring check: Inspect wiring from the broil element to the control board for burns or loose connections. Repair as needed.
• Control board: If the element and wiring are good, replace the EOC.

Note: Use the correct Magic Chef broil element; wattage and shape must match the original.
