How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
Steps:
- Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. If E3 clears and does not return, monitor operation.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the cooktop or rear panel and inspect the harness between the user interface board and the main power board. Reseat all connectors.
- Check for damage: Look for burnt spots, bulging capacitors, or cracked solder joints on the main board. Replace the board if damage is visible.
- Board replacement: If E3 persists after wiring checks, replace the main power board with the correct Magic Chef part.
Note: Label all connectors before removing the old board to ensure correct reassembly.
