Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the lock mechanism. Surfaces may be hot after a recent cycle.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the door latch area for debris or baked-on residue preventing full lock engagement. Clean as needed.
- Manual test: With power OFF, access the lock motor assembly from the top or rear. Manually move the lock arm through its full travel. It should move smoothly without binding.
- Switch testing: Use a multimeter to test the lock position switches for proper continuity in locked and unlocked positions. Replace the lock assembly if switches fail.
- Wiring and board: Inspect wiring from the lock assembly to the EOC. If wiring and lock assembly are good, the EOC lock relay or logic may be defective and require replacement.
Warning: Do not force the door open during a self-clean cycle; allow the oven to cool and unlock normally or manually release the lock with power off.
