Possible Causes
Lock motor jammed, Warped latch from high heat, Failed lock position switch, EOC not sending unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the oven to cool completely. Disconnect power before attempting manual release.
Steps:
- Cool-down: Ensure the oven is fully cool; some models will not unlock until a safe temperature is reached.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 1 minute, then ON. Try the CANCEL or CLEAR/OFF button to trigger unlock.
- Manual release: Remove the top panel or rear panel to access the lock mechanism. Manually move the lock arm to the unlocked position.
- Inspect and replace: Check the lock motor and switches for damage. Replace the lock assembly if it binds or the motor is inoperative.
Warning: Do not force the door open; this can bend hinges and damage the frame.
