Possible Causes
Stuck fan relay on EOC, Shorted fan thermostat (if used), Miswired fan after repair, Faulty fan control triac on board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control board or fan wiring.
Steps:
- Cool-down check: Some Magic Chef models run the cooling fan until the oven cools. Verify that the oven is truly cool and fan still runs after 30–60 minutes.
- Inspect control board: Remove the backguard or rear panel to access the EOC. Look for stuck relays or burned components.
- Test fan circuit: Disconnect the fan motor connector. If the fan stops (obviously) and voltage is still present at the connector when the oven is off, the control board relay is stuck and the EOC must be replaced.
- Thermostat (if equipped): Some models use a fan thermostat; test it for proper open/closed operation at room temperature and replace if stuck closed.
Note: A short run of the fan after cooking is normal; continuous operation is not.
