Maytag No Pan Detected / Incompatible Cookware

Induction or electronic cooktop displays E0 and will not heat

Possible Causes

Non-magnetic cookware, Pan too small for element, Warped pan bottom, Cookware not centered on element

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooktop surface is clean and dry.

  • Use proper cookware: For induction Maytag cooktops, use flat-bottomed, magnetic cookware (cast iron or induction-compatible stainless). Test with a magnet; it should stick firmly.
  • Center the pan: Place the pan in the center of the cooking zone and ensure it covers the minimum area required.
  • Try another pan: If E0 persists, try a different magnetic pan to rule out warped or incompatible cookware.
  • Clean surface: Wipe the glass surface to remove any residue that might interfere with pan detection.
