Possible Causes
Failed electronic oven control board, Power surge damage, Internal relay or logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Wait for all surfaces to cool.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker off for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If F1-5 reappears immediately or when trying to start the oven, the control is likely defective.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the rear control panel cover and check for loose or burned connectors at the EOC. Tighten any loose connections and look for signs of overheating.
- Check for rodent or moisture damage: Inspect the area around the control for chewed wires or corrosion. Address any environmental issues.
- Replace EOC: If wiring is intact and the code persists, replace the electronic oven control with the correct Maytag OEM part. Transfer each wire one at a time from the old board to the new to avoid miswiring.
- Test operation: Restore power and test bake, broil, and timer functions.
