Possible Causes
Failed oven temperature sensor reading low, Stuck bake relay on EOC, Miscalibrated EOC, Poor oven ventilation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the oven is overheating, turn it OFF and switch off the breaker. Allow it to cool completely.
- Check sensor resistance: With power off, remove and test the oven temperature sensor. At room temperature it should be ~1050–1100 Ω. If significantly lower, replace the sensor.
- Inspect control relays: From the rear, remove the control panel cover and check if the bake relay contacts appear welded or burned. If the bake element stays on even when the oven is off, the relay is stuck and the EOC must be replaced.
- Verify ventilation: Ensure the range has proper clearance and that oven vents (often at the back of the cooktop) are not blocked by foil, pans, or debris.
- Calibrate if only slightly off: If the oven is just running hot but not dangerously, use the user manual procedure to adjust oven temperature calibration (often ±30°F) through the control settings.
- Replace parts as needed: Replace the oven sensor first; if F2-1 persists, replace the EOC.
