Possible Causes
Welded bake or broil relay contacts, Shorted relay driver on EOC, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not continue using the oven if elements stay on when they should be off.
- Visual inspection: Remove the rear control panel cover and inspect the EOC for burned or cracked areas around the relays.
- Check elements: With power off, disconnect one wire from the bake and broil elements and test for continuity to chassis ground. A shorted element can cause relay stress; replace any element shorted to ground.
- Replace EOC: If relays are welded or the board is visibly damaged, replace the EOC. Transfer wires one at a time to the new board.
