Possible Causes
Failed bake element, Loose or burned bake element terminal, Broken wire between element and relay, Failed bake relay on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the oven is cool.
- Inspect bake element: Look for visible breaks, blisters, or burn spots on the lower element inside the oven. Any damage means it should be replaced.
- Check connections: Remove the rear panel and inspect the bake element terminals and wires. Tighten loose connections and replace any burned terminals or wires with high-temperature parts.
- Test continuity: Disconnect at least one wire from the bake element and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical element reads 15–40 Ω. If open (OL), replace the element.
- Check relay (advanced): If the element is good, test for 240 VAC at the element terminals when bake is commanded (use extreme caution). If no voltage, the EOC or relay is likely faulty and should be replaced.
