Possible Causes
Tripped breaker or blown fuse, Loose power cord or terminal block, Failed EOC, Open thermal fuse (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Verify the breaker is off before accessing the rear of the range.
- Check breaker: Ensure the double-pole breaker is fully ON. Reset if tripped.
- Inspect terminal block: Pull the range out and inspect the power cord connections at the terminal block for burns or loose screws. Repair or replace as needed.
- Verify voltage: With a multimeter and proper safety, confirm 240 VAC across L1–L2 and 120 VAC from each leg to neutral at the terminal block.
- Check thermal fuse: Some Maytag ranges have a thermal fuse in the control circuit. Test for continuity and replace if open.
- Replace EOC: If power is present at the control but it remains dead, replace the EOC.
