Possible Causes
Boil-overs and spills not cleaned promptly, Using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, Sugar or plastic melted on glass, Overheating from oversized pans
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the surface to cool completely before cleaning.
- Use proper cleaner: Apply a ceramic cooktop cleaner recommended by Midea and use a non-abrasive pad.
- Remove stubborn residue: For burned-on sugar or plastic, use a razor scraper held at a 45° angle, gently scraping while the glass is still warm (not hot).
- Avoid abrasives: Do not use steel wool, oven cleaner, or harsh chemicals on the glass.
Permanent discoloration is cosmetic and does not usually affect function, but deep scratches or pitting can weaken the glass and may require glass top replacement.
