Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool completely before touching any components.
- Allow cooling: Turn off the affected zone and wait 15–20 minutes. Restart at a lower power level.
- Check ventilation:
- Inspect the cabinet under the cooktop for blocked vents or items stored directly against the cooktop bottom.
- Ensure there is adequate clearance as specified in the Midea installation manual.
- Listen for cooling fan: When any zone is on, you should hear a low fan noise. If the fan is silent or unusually loud, it may be obstructed or failing.
- Avoid dry heating: Do not run a zone on high with an empty pan or very little liquid; this can quickly overheat the glass and sensor.
If E2 recurs even with good ventilation and normal use, the temperature sensor or main control board may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
