Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the underside of the cooktop.
- Listen for fan: When any zone is turned on, you should hear the fan. If silent or intermittent, suspect a fan issue.
- Inspect and clean fan:
- Remove the bottom cover to access the fan.
- Clear any debris, insulation, or stored items blocking the fan intake or exhaust.
- Clean blades gently with a brush and vacuum.
- Check wiring: Ensure the fan connector is firmly seated on the main PCB and wires are not damaged.
If the fan still does not run or E9 remains, replace the cooling fan assembly. If a new fan does not resolve it, the main control board may be misreading fan feedback and require replacement.
