Possible Causes

Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD), Loose sensor connector at control board, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty electronic oven control (EOC)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels or pulling the range out.

  • Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. If F1 returns immediately, proceed with checks.
  • Inspect oven sensor:
    • Locate the temperature sensor probe inside the oven (usually on rear wall, upper area).
    • Ensure it is firmly mounted and not physically damaged.
  • Check connections (advanced):
    • Pull the range forward and remove the rear panel.
    • Locate the sensor connector on the main control board and ensure it is fully seated.

If the sensor and wiring appear intact, the sensor should be tested with a meter and replaced if out of specification. If a new sensor does not clear F1, the EOC (main oven control board) is likely defective and should be replaced.
