Possible Causes

Wet or dirty spark electrode, Misaligned burner cap causing poor flame contact, Faulty ignition switch stuck closed, Defective spark module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn all burner knobs OFF. Unplug the range or switch off the breaker before cleaning around electrodes.

  • Dry electrodes: If you recently cleaned or had a spill, moisture may be causing continuous clicking. Allow the cooktop to dry for several hours or use a fan to speed drying.
  • Clean around electrode: Gently clean the ceramic electrode and surrounding area with a soft brush and dry cloth.
  • Check cap alignment: Ensure burner caps are correctly seated so the flame contacts the electrode area.

If clicking continues on one burner only, the corresponding ignition switch or electrode may need replacement. If all burners click, the spark module or switch harness should be inspected by a technician.
