Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad membrane, Failed electronic oven control board, Moisture or contamination on keypad ribbon, Loose or corroded keypad harness connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the range OFF at the breaker or unplug it before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.

  • Power reset: Turn the breaker off for 5 minutes, then restore power. If F1 returns within a few minutes without pressing any keys, the control or keypad is likely faulty.
  • Check for stuck keys: Gently press each keypad button several times. If any key feels stuck or does not click, the touchpad membrane may be shorted.
  • Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel (usually by removing screws behind the trim or under the front lip). Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board. Reseat it carefully and ensure it is fully inserted and not damaged or corroded.
  • Dry moisture: If the keypad area was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, allow it to dry for several hours with power disconnected. Do not spray cleaners directly on the control panel.
  • Replace faulty component: If F1 persists after reseating and drying, replace the control panel/touchpad assembly or the electronic oven control board as specified in the Monogram service manual for your model.
