Possible Causes
Shorted keypad matrix, Damaged touchpad ribbon cable, Failed key scan circuit on control board, Moisture intrusion into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel. Avoid static discharge to the control board.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. If F7 appears immediately without pressing keys, suspect keypad or control.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel and locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control. Reseat it firmly and inspect for cracks or corrosion.
- Dry the panel: If the panel was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, allow it to dry thoroughly. Do not use heat guns; allow air drying.
- Isolate keypad vs control: On many Monogram models, you can disconnect the keypad ribbon and restore power. If F7 clears with the keypad disconnected, the keypad/touch panel is faulty. If F7 remains, the control board is faulty.
- Replace faulty assembly: Replace the control panel/touchpad assembly or electronic oven control board as indicated by the isolation test.
