Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, faulty overheat thermostat (cut-out), stuck cooling fan relay, blocked ventilation slots

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate from mains before accessing the top cover.

  • Identify fan: The cooling fan is usually located above the oven cavity, blowing air across the control panel.
  • If fan never runs: After heating the oven, the cooling fan should start automatically. If not, test the cooling fan motor for continuity and replace if open. Also test the overheat thermostat mounted on the top of the oven cavity; replace if open circuit when cool.
  • If fan runs constantly: The overheat thermostat may be stuck closed or the relay on the control board may be stuck. Test the thermostat for correct switching temperature; replace if faulty. If thermostat is OK, replace the control board.
  • Clean vents: Ensure front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinets or debris, which can cause overheating and fan issues.
