Possible Causes

Broken oven temperature sensor, disconnected sensor plug at rear, broken wire in sensor harness, failed connector on electronic clock/programmer

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate the cooker from the mains supply before removing any covers.

  • Check sensor connection: Pull the cooker forward, remove the rear metal cover, and locate the two‑wire sensor harness coming from the oven cavity. Ensure the plug is fully seated in the main wiring loom or directly into the clock module.
  • Continuity test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance across its two terminals. If the meter shows OL (open line) or extremely high resistance, the sensor is open and must be replaced.
  • Harness test: If the sensor itself measures correctly, test continuity from the sensor plug to the connector at the clock/programmer. Flex the harness while testing to reveal intermittent breaks.
  • Replace sensor or harness: If either is open, fit a genuine or compatible New World sensor/harness. Route the cable away from sharp edges and hot components, using existing clips.
  • Module check: If wiring and sensor are confirmed good, the fault lies in the electronic clock/programmer input circuit. Replacement of the module is required; this involves removing the control panel and transferring all connectors one by one.
