Possible Causes
Incorrect sensor type fitted, sensor resistance out of calibration, poor connection at sensor plug, faulty electronic clock/programmer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before testing.
- Verify correct sensor: Check the part number on the fitted sensor against the model's parts list. Using a non‑genuine or wrong‑value NTC can trigger F5.
- Measure resistance at room temperature: Compare the reading to the specification in the service data (commonly around 1 kΩ at 20°C). If significantly off, replace the sensor with the correct New World part.
- Check connectors: Clean and reseat the sensor connector at both ends. Light oxidation can cause intermittent readings.
- Module replacement: If a known‑good sensor and wiring are present and F5 persists, the electronic clock/programmer is misreading the sensor and must be replaced.
