Possible Causes
Stuck membrane keypad button, liquid ingress into touch panel, damaged ribbon cable between keypad and clock, faulty electronic clock/programmer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the appliance from mains before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore. If F7 clears temporarily but returns when certain buttons are pressed, the keypad is suspect.
- Inspect fascia: Check for signs of spillage or cleaning fluid around the clock buttons. Allow the panel to dry fully if recently cleaned.
- Access keypad: Remove the control panel screws from the front or top. Carefully pull the panel forward to expose the clock and keypad membrane.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon from the keypad to the clock is fully inserted and not damaged or corroded. Reseat it.
- Replace keypad or clock: On many New World models the keypad is integrated with the clock fascia; you may need to replace the complete clock/keypad assembly. Transfer each connector one at a time to avoid mis‑wiring.
