New World Open-Circuit Fan Oven Element

Main oven not heating at all, fan runs but no heat

Possible Causes

Burnt out circular fan element, loose element terminals, overheated element connectors, failed electronic relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate the cooker from mains before removing any panels or elements.

  • Check function: Select a fan oven mode and set temperature high. If the fan runs but no warmth is felt after 10 minutes, the fan element is suspect.
  • Visual inspection: Remove the oven back panel inside the cavity (usually 4 screws). Inspect the circular element around the fan for cracks, blisters, or burn marks.
  • Test element: Disconnect the two element terminals and measure resistance. A typical New World fan element reads 20–40 Ω. If open circuit, replace the element.
  • Inspect connectors: Check for heat‑damaged spade terminals. Replace any discoloured or loose connectors and ensure a tight fit on the new element.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the rear panel, restore power, and test heating. If still no heat and the element tests good, the oven relay on the clock/power board may have failed and the board will need replacement.
