Possible Causes
Burnt out fan motor, seized fan bearings, obstruction in fan blades, faulty fan relay or selector switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before removing the oven back panel.
- Check fan operation: In fan oven mode, you should hear the fan running. If silent and heat is uneven, suspect the fan motor.
- Access fan: Remove the rear panel inside the oven to expose the fan blade and motor shaft. Check for obstructions (foil, food debris).
- Spin test: With power off, spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely. Stiff or grinding movement indicates worn bearings; replace the motor.
- Electrical test: Access the motor terminals from the rear of the cooker. Check for continuity across the motor windings. If open circuit, replace the fan motor.
- Check supply: If the motor is good but not powered, test for voltage at the motor when fan mode is selected. No voltage indicates a relay or selector fault.
