Oven makes loud rattling or grinding noise when fan is running
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Loose fan blade, worn fan motor bearings, loose oven panels or shelves, foreign object in fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate from mains before removing panels.
- Identify source: Run the oven briefly and listen to locate the noise (rear fan, top cooling fan, or cabinet vibration). Then switch off and unplug.
- Check oven fan: Remove the rear panel inside the oven and inspect the fan blade. Tighten the centre nut if loose and remove any debris.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. Roughness or play indicates worn bearings; replace the fan motor.
- Secure panels: Tighten any loose screws on internal panels, side trims, and back cover. Ensure shelves and runners are properly seated.
