Possible Causes
Partially failed element, incorrect thermostat calibration, sensor drift, low mains voltage, poor electrical connection at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate from mains before testing elements or terminals.
- Measure preheat time: A typical New World fan oven should reach 180°C in about 10–15 minutes. Longer times suggest a heating issue.
- Check all elements: Ensure both fan and auxiliary elements heat when appropriate. Test resistance and replace any element with significantly higher resistance than specification.
- Inspect mains terminal block: Loose connections can cause voltage drop and poor heating. Tighten all screws with power off.
- Thermostat/sensor check: Compare oven temperature with an oven thermometer. If consistently low, adjust or replace the thermostat (mechanical) or replace the sensor/control board (electronic).
