Possible Causes

Failed base element, failed top oven element, loose wiring at element terminals, selector switch contact failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the mains before working on the cooker.

  • Identify which element: If the oven heats only from the top or only from the bottom, the opposite element is likely failed. If no heat at all in that cavity, both or the selector may be faulty.
  • Access elements: For base elements, remove the oven floor panel; for top elements, remove the inner top panel or access from the rear.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect each element and measure resistance (typically 20–60 Ω). Replace any that are open circuit.
  • Check selector switch: If elements test good, the oven function/selector switch may not be sending power. Inspect the switch for burnt contacts and test continuity across the appropriate terminals in the selected mode. Replace the selector switch if faulty.
