Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Melted sensor harness insulation, Failed sensor input on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before removing panels or touching wiring.

Step-by-step:

  • Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel of the Premier range and inspect the oven sensor wiring where it passes near the oven liner. Look for melted or bare wires touching metal.
  • Isolate the sensor: Disconnect the sensor from the harness and test its resistance at room temperature. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor; replace it.
  • Check harness to chassis: With the sensor disconnected at both ends (sensor and EOC), check each wire to chassis ground with a meter. Any continuity indicates a short to ground; repair or replace the harness.
  • Control board evaluation: If the sensor and harness are not shorted but F4 remains, the EOC sensor circuit may be internally shorted. Replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
  • Reassemble and test: Secure all wiring away from hot surfaces, reinstall panels, restore power, and test a bake cycle.
