Possible Causes
Failed oven temperature sensor, Stuck bake or broil relay on EOC, Poor airflow around range, Faulty cooling fan on models with fan-cooled controls
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power and allow the oven and control area to cool completely before servicing.
Step-by-step:
- Check vents and installation: Ensure the range has proper clearance per Premier installation instructions and that rear and top vents are not blocked.
- Test oven sensor: Access and test the oven temperature sensor as described for F2/F3. Replace if out of specification.
- Inspect control area: Remove the backguard cover and look for signs of overheating around the EOC and wiring. Replace any discolored or melted connectors.
- Fan check (if equipped): On models with a control cooling fan, verify that the fan spins freely and runs during high-temperature operation. Replace the control cooling fan motor if seized or inoperative.
- Replace EOC if needed: If the sensor and fan are good but F8 persists, the EOC relays may be failing. Replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
