Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed door lock latch, Faulty door lock switch, Open or shorted wiring between lock and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before working on the door lock mechanism. Beware of sharp metal edges around the oven frame.
Step-by-step:
- Check door movement: With power off, open and close the oven door. Ensure it closes fully and the latch engages smoothly. Look for bent latch or misaligned door.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the top panel or rear panel (depending on Premier model) to access the door lock motor and latch assembly.
- Inspect linkage: Check for bent rods, broken plastic pieces, or obstructions preventing the lock from moving. Clear obstructions and straighten minor bends.
- Test lock motor and switches: With a meter, test continuity of the lock motor and associated lock/unlock switches according to the wiring diagram. Replace the door lock motor assembly if open or mechanically seized.
- Check wiring: Inspect harness from lock assembly to EOC for damage or loose connectors. Repair as needed.
- Control board: If the lock assembly and wiring are good but F9 persists, the EOC lock driver circuit may be faulty. Replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
