Possible Causes
Stuck cooling fan thermostat, worn cooling fan bearings, fan blades fouling on housing, control PCB not switching fan off
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the cooker from the mains before removing any panels.
Steps to check:
- Normal behaviour: Note that the cooling fan may run for some time after cooking to cool the control panel. Continuous running for hours is abnormal.
- Noise source: Remove the top panel to access the cooling fan. Check for loose screws or panels vibrating against the fan.
- Clean and inspect: Remove dust and grease from the fan blades. Ensure they are not rubbing on the housing.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. If rough or wobbly, replace the fan motor.
- Thermostat check: Some models use a thermostat to control the cooling fan. If it is stuck closed, the fan may run constantly and the thermostat should be replaced.
