Possible Causes
Non-magnetic cookware, pan too small for zone, warped pan base, thick protective covers or mats on hob surface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the hob surface is cool before handling cookware.
Steps to check:
- Check pan material: Use cookware with a magnetic base (cast iron or induction-compatible stainless steel). Test with a magnet.
- Pan size: Ensure the pan base is at least 60–70% of the zone diameter. Very small pans may not be detected.
- Pan base flatness: A heavily warped or rounded base can prevent proper detection. Try a different pan.
- Remove barriers: Do not use hob covers, silicone mats, or multiple layers of paper between the pan and glass.
- Try another zone: If the same pan works on other zones, the issue may be with the specific coil or sensor (see F7/F9 entries).
