Possible Causes

Disconnected or failed meat probe (if equipped), Faulty oven temperature sensor, Loose sensor connector at control board, Damaged sensor harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before testing sensors or wiring.

  • Remove probe: If your RCA range has a meat probe feature, ensure the probe is fully removed from the jack. A partially inserted or defective probe can trigger E1.
  • Inspect probe jack: Check the probe receptacle inside the oven for debris or corrosion. Clean gently if needed.
  • Test oven sensor: If no probe is used, test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). Replace if out of range.
  • Check harness: Inspect wiring from the sensor/probe jack to the control board for damage. Repair or replace as necessary.
