How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing rear panels.
- Verify sensor: Remove the oven temperature sensor and test its resistance at room temperature. If significantly off from 1050–1100 Ω, replace the sensor.
- Inspect connectors: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated at both the sensor and control board ends. Clean any oxidation from contacts.
- Calibrate control: Many RCA ranges allow temperature calibration via the user menu (e.g., adjust +/− 35°F). Refer to the user manual and perform calibration if the oven is consistently off but no hardware fault is found.
- Replace control: If sensor and wiring are good and calibration does not hold, replace the electronic oven control board.
