Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wires shorted to chassis, Control board misreading sensor input, Melted harness near oven cavity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Test sensor: With the oven cool, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor; replace it.
- Inspect harness: Check the sensor wires where they pass through the rear oven wall for melted insulation or contact with metal. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
- Control board: If sensor and wiring are good, the control may be misinterpreting the signal. Replace the electronic oven control board.
