Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, Liquid spill into control panel, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Warped control panel overlay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Check for stuck keys: Press each key on the control panel individually. If any key feels stuck or does not click, the keypad is likely defective.
- Inspect for spills: Look for evidence of liquid or steam intrusion around the control panel. Allow the panel to dry fully if recently exposed to moisture.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the rear control cover and carefully unplug and reinsert the keypad ribbon cable into the electronic oven control. Ensure it is fully seated and not damaged.
- Replace keypad/control panel: If F7 persists, replace the control panel/touchpad assembly. On some RCA models, the keypad is integrated with the control board and the entire electronic oven control must be replaced.
