Possible Causes
Misaligned burner cap, Clogged burner ports near igniter, Low gas pressure, Igniter not properly grounded to burner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the burner and allow parts to cool before handling.
- Align burner cap: Remove and reinstall the burner cap, ensuring it is centered and seated correctly on the burner head.
- Clean ports near igniter: Focus on the small ports closest to the igniter electrode. Clean with a soft brush or toothpick to ensure gas can reach the spark.
- Check grounding: Ensure the burner head is properly seated on the base so the igniter has a good ground path. Clean any rust or debris from contact surfaces.
- Gas pressure: If all burners have weak or lazy flames, have a qualified technician check the regulator and household gas pressure.
